Welcome to my first ever blog! Heather and I are preparing to travel to the African country of Namibia, leaving on October 20, 2015.
I invite everyone to sign on for the adventure. We will be traveling with Frikkie von Solms of Untamed Travel Africa as pictured above with Zion, one of the orphaned lion cubs he raised to adulthood at Harnas Wildlife Sanctuary. Highpoints of the trip include a tour of the Namibian west coast as well as the Namib desert which extends to the shore of the Skeleton Coast. Other special events of the trip will include a visit to Harnas, and a visit to the Namibian national park, Etosha, a vast salt pan dotted with waterholes to which a large variety of African animals come to drink including elephants, zebras, wildebeest, antelope, cheetahs, leopards and LIONS! Hear them roar!
we don’t know each other personally, but I heard a lot about you from Marianne Schmid and Heidi Stedtler who you met in the exclusive volunteers group at Harnas last year. I was in their group this year and Marianne and me and later on also Heidi alone did a coastal/desert trip together with Frikkie. It was beautiful. We stayed in Henties bay in a very nice guest house and enjoyed the time with Frikkie when he showed us the beauty of this area. I wish you a very wonderful time over there. Enjoy it and send Frikkie my very best regards,
Sabine (better known as the gluten-free Lady ;-))
